Prepare for a night and understand the report

GUIDE · SNORY TELLER

Before you start

  1. Place your plugged-in iPhone on a stable surface near the bed, with its microphone unobstructed. Keep it clear of bedding.
  2. Run a short test in that position. Check that the microphone animation reacts to sound. It shows audio input, not successful snoring recognition.
  3. If you use alerts, wear your watch and run the test provided in the app, then lock your iPhone. Check alert onset and stopping separately.
  4. Start listening. If you adjust input gain, change one setting at a time and repeat the same test. Higher gain does not guarantee better recognition.

Read the morning figures in order

Analysed time: first check listening duration and interruptions. Almost complete coverage means analysis was running, not that every snore was recognised.

Estimated snoring: this totals sounds classified as snoring. Brief or scattered detections may never form a confirmed episode.

Alerts: distinguish submitted requests, available confirmations and what you actually felt. Zero requests means detection did not trigger an alert.

Compare without jumping to conclusions

Note placement, gain, awakenings and, when sharing a bed, your partner’s experience. Compare several nights under similar conditions. The app cannot identify who is snoring; a pause after an alert does not prove the alert caused it.
