Back up your collection

Sync and backup serve different purposes. A deletion can sync across devices, so sync does not replace a separate copy.

Before a large import or changing computers, export your data using the formats offered by your version of Record Picker. CSV lets you inspect albums in a spreadsheet; JSON preserves structured data.

Date the file and keep a copy away from your main device. Open the CSV to check a few albums and the row count. Check the restore formats available in your version before treating a copy as restorable.

Expected result: a dated, readable export stored independently of sync.
