v1.3

Apple Watch reimagined, Discogs fallback, and 29 languages

June 22, 2026

  • Apple Watch reimagined: the cover sits as a blurred backdrop, with three thumb-friendly buttons for favorite, undo the last draw, and next draw, each with dedicated haptic feedback.
  • Apple Watch layout adapted from 41 mm to Ultra.
  • Barcode scan now falls back to Discogs when MusicBrainz does not know the reference; if Discogs finds the edition, the form is pre-filled automatically.
  • Record Picker is available in 29 languages, with new variants and localizations: Arabic, Catalan, Korean, Danish, English for Australia/Canada/United Kingdom, Finnish, Canadian French, Hebrew, Hindi, Indonesian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese for Brazil/Portugal, Russian, Swedish, and Turkish.
  • Small polish: better balanced cover picker sheet on iPad, faster iPhone-Watch sync, and a discreet App Store review request after regular use.
v1.2

Catalog, smart picking, and Apple Watch companion

June 18, 2026

  • Full music collection catalog for imports, manual album entry, and barcode scanning.
  • Animated random draw, year filters, favorites, temporary exclusions, listening history, and collection statistics.
  • Mood-based picking with local Apple models when available, otherwise on-device matching from collection metadata.
  • MusicBrainz metadata lookup, Cover Art Archive artwork or manual artwork import, backup/restore, Siri Shortcuts, and Apple Watch companion.
  • The collection stays stored locally; metadata and artwork lookups happen only when the user starts them.

Privacy

Collection data

The albums you add, import, edit, favorite, exclude, or draw are stored on your device. This may include album titles, artist names, release information, genres, styles, tags, notes, listening history, cover artwork, and collection metadata.

Record Picker does not operate a user account system and does not upload your collection to a Record Picker server.

Camera and barcode scanning

Record Picker may use the camera to scan barcodes when you choose to add an album this way. Camera images are not stored or shared by Record Picker.

Metadata and cover searches

When you start a metadata or cover search, Record Picker may contact external music metadata services such as MusicBrainz, Cover Art Archive, or Discogs.

These requests may include the search terms or barcode you provide. They are sent only when you explicitly start the lookup.

On-device suggestions

Record Picker may use Apple Intelligence on-device, when available, to suggest albums by mood. When those models are not available, suggestions are calculated locally from metadata, favorites, tags, genres, styles, and recent draws.

Record Picker does not use third-party AI providers and does not send your collection to cloud AI.

Internet reviews

Internet reviews are never scraped automatically. Smart features remain user-initiated or calculated on-device.

Apple Watch companion

If you use the Apple Watch companion app, Record Picker may sync essential collection and draw information between your iPhone and Apple Watch using Apple's device communication features.

Backups, imports, and exports

Record Picker may let you import, export, back up, or restore collection files. These files are created, selected, and managed by you.

Tracking and advertising

Record Picker does not use advertising tracking and does not include third-party advertising SDKs.
