Sound analysis

Listening starts only when you start a session and grant microphone access. Your iPhone analyzes short audio buffers locally in memory to estimate snoring, breathing, speech, ambient or uncertain sounds. No audio recording is retained or sent to the publisher. The app does not transcribe conversations or identify people. Inform anyone sharing your room before starting a session.

History and preferences

Session times, estimated episodes, durations, category counts and vibration requests with their outcomes stay in local iPhone storage. Vibration preferences are stored separately on each device. History remains until you delete it and is excluded from backups by the app. Snory Teller does not sync it through iCloud. Storage relies on iOS protection; the app provides no remote backup.

Sparse battery, power, thermal-state and Low Power Mode samples are stored locally with the session to check runtime behavior. They are deleted with history and are not sent to the publisher.

Watch communication

The iPhone sends a random request identifier and a short expiry time to your paired Apple Watch using WatchConnectivity. The watch returns an acceptance or rejection status. No audio or Health data is sent to the watch. These messages are not addressed to a Snory Teller server.

You can add optional feedback to each night: your sleep quality and disturbance reported by your partner. These responses stay on your iPhone with the session, are not sent to the publisher, and can be edited or cleared by choosing “Not answered”. They are also deleted with history.

Apple Health

Access is optional and requested in Settings or a completed session report. Snory Teller reads only sleep periods and their source to provide time context. This information stays in memory while consulted; it is not added to the history file or sent to the publisher. The app writes nothing to Health. Declining access does not prevent sound analysis. Health data is not used for advertising, marketing or commercial profiling.

Your controls and deletion

Stop listening with “End the night”. In “My nights”, use “Delete nights” while listening is stopped to erase local history. Preferences remain. Deleting the app removes its local storage; offloading may retain data. Also delete the watch app to remove its preferences. Deleting Snory Teller history does not change Health data created by other apps. You can revoke Microphone and Health permissions through Settings and Health at any time.

Publisher collection

Snory Teller has no account, advertising, usage analytics SDK, tracker or application server. The publisher does not receive your history or sounds. System diagnostics managed by Apple, if enabled, are governed by your Apple settings.

Website and support

Information pages are hosted by GitHub Pages under recordpicker.app/snory-teller/. They add no application cookies, advertising tools or analytics scripts. The hosting provider may process technical connection information, including IP addresses, to deliver and secure the service under its policy: GitHub Privacy Statement.

If you email support, your address and message are processed to respond, based on the legitimate interest in providing assistance. Do not send overnight audio or Health data. Correspondence is deleted within twelve months of closing the request unless a legal obligation or dispute requires retention. You may request access, correction or deletion, object to processing, or request restriction through the contact address. You may complain to the CNIL or your local authority. Email and hosting providers may operate outside your country under their terms; the app sends them no night data.

Changes

Changes to processing will be reflected on this page. New permission will be requested if another protected data category becomes necessary.

Subscription purchases

Payments and renewals are handled by Apple through your Apple Account. Snory Teller checks verified StoreKit transactions on the device to determine access. The publisher operates no purchase-validation server and does not receive your payment card details. Apple processes purchase information under its own privacy policy. No advertising SDK is included.
