To report a problem or suggest an improvement, email support@recordpicker.app. Include your device model, system version, Meal Picker version and the steps that led to the issue. The form in Settings → General → Support and suggestions prepares version information; you review the email before sending it.
Please do not send your entire library or sensitive preferences if a description is enough. A screenshot can help after personal information has been hidden.
Find and choose a recipe
In Library, search for a title or ingredient, select a course and adjust the browsing filters. Open a recipe to see its ingredients, method and source.
Random Pick uses your selection preferences. Today’s Pick considers factors such as season, course, available time and recorded cooking dates. If no recipe fits, try widening the time, season or dietary filters.
Edit a recipe or photo
Use Edit to correct a recipe. Recipe Language lets you view the original and edit a translated title. Data Quality brings together details that need checking.
Metadata and image searches, sources and videos open in your browser or another app. Meal Picker makes no direct requests to provider APIs for these features; those services apply their own privacy policies. Return to Meal Picker to enter your corrections.
Choose an image in Photos or Files, or copy an image and select Paste. The paste button is unavailable when the clipboard offers no compatible image. Search opens image results in your browser; return to the app to paste or import your chosen image. Keep credits and check your rights to use the image.
Plan and record your cooking
Add a recipe to Cook Later and choose a date if you wish. Sending it to Reminders or Calendar requires a separate action. A change in Meal Picker does not automatically update these external items.
You can mark a recipe Already cooked without entering a date. When you know its actual cooking date, record it so Today’s Pick can use it for the rotation period. Quantities scale from a known serving size; check any missing or ambiguous amounts.
Shopping and Bring!
Prepare products in Shopping or from a recipe. Copy the ingredients or share the list through the system interface, then open Bring! externally. Paste or add the items and check quantities directly in Bring!
Meal Picker opens a generic Bring! link: it does not automatically import a recipe or send ingredients, serving sizes or product details to the Bring! API. System sharing passes only what you choose to your selected destination. Meal Picker does not read your account or products checked off in Bring!
Share recipes with another person
From a recipe, choose Share this Meal Picker recipe. To select several recipes, open Share a recipe collection in Data settings: on Mac, Data → Backups & data; on iPhone, Kitchen → Settings → Data; on iPad, Settings → Data.
- Select the recipes to send. Include linked preparations is enabled initially; personal notes stay excluded unless you enable Include my personal notes.
- Choose Prepare recipes, then Share… or Save file… to send the
.mealpickerfile using your preferred transfer method. - The recipient opens the file with Meal Picker or selects it in Import recipes. They review the recipes and the number of additions before confirming with Import this catalogue.
The file keeps ingredients, methods, photos, sources, credits, translations and links between preparations, including manually fixed translated titles. Notes are included only on request. Settings, favourites, menus, shopping, histories and cooking status are not transferred. Import adds new recipes and keeps existing cards, including their edits. Importing the same file again does not add these recipes a second time.
This is an independent copy. Later edits are not sent automatically between people. Review photos and any notes you choose to include before sending the file. Compatible Meal Picker files up to 750 MB can be imported.
Language, region and sync
In Settings → General → Language, choose Français, English or System Language. Choose the seasonal country and area manually. Meal Picker does not request your location.
Sync uses the device’s private Apple account. If changes are delayed, check iCloud account availability and the internet connection on both devices, open Meal Picker and inspect sync status in My Data. Keep local data and contact support before deleting anything to troubleshoot sync.
Allergens, substitutions and data
Filters and substitutes depend on the information available. Check ingredients, labels and product composition; they do not guarantee the absence of allergens or traces.
In Data, My data contains Export my data: this complete backup also includes personal app information. It is separate from the file created by Export recipes for sharing. Restoring a complete backup from a file is not offered in this version. Deleted recipes remain restorable within the app.
Included, imported and shared content
The public edition includes only two original stuffing recipes by Yves and their translations. Recipes and illustrations from his private library are not bundled in the app.
You are responsible for content you import or share and the necessary permissions, including for third-party text and photos. Keeping a source or credit does not grant republication rights. Check the content and rights before sending a file.
Inventory and reminders
In the In stock section, add or edit products and quantities in Pantry or Fridge. Enter products manually or scan one or more barcodes on iPhone/iPad. Open Food Facts can provide product details and a photo; check names, units and package counts before saving. Existing products with a barcode offer Find product photo. Stock movements are dated automatically and drawing a recipe does not deduct stock. In a recipe, the scheduling menu offers Add to Reminders even without a date. Use Update reminder to send later changes to Apple Reminders.
Free trial and purchase
Try all features for seven days with the free Apple trial, then unlock Meal Picker with a one-time purchase shared across Mac, iPhone and iPad using the same Apple Account. France price: EUR 6.99; the local price appears in the app before purchase. No subscription or automatic charge. After expiry, without purchase, creation, editing and selection are locked; your data remains saved and exportable. Use Restore Purchases to recover access.
